Smooth Radio North East

Smooth North East is a regional radio station that broadcasts from studios in Newcastle to North East England. The station was designed to cover Newcastle and the surrounding areas, Sunderland, Durham, Darlington and Middlesbrough. It can also be heard across much of North Yorkshire as far south as Northallerton, as far north as Morpeth and as far west as Haltwhistle in Northumberland. Smooth North East was launched at 8am on 8 January 2008 and featured middle of the road, adult contemporary music. Nowadays, the station continues to feature an adult contemporay format and it is operated by Global Radio, and is owned  by Communicorp.
